The DESMOND Programme just keeps on growing!

DESMOND is now THE structured education programme of choice for over 110 healthcare organisations across Great Britain and Ireland, for people with Type 2 diabetes.

There are currently 750 Educators (FEBRUARY 2010) delivering DESMOND programmes. This includes the Newly Diagnosed module, and the Foundation module for people with established diabetes. Over 280 Educators are now working towards accreditation through the DESMOND quality development framework.

The last 12 months has seen a major expansion of the DESMOND programme beyond the UK, and it is now firmly established in both Northern Ireland and Eire - the Republic of Ireland now has more than 60 trained DESMOND Educators. In the UK the expansion of the programme continues, with new sites coming on board while other sites are increasing their capacity through training additional personnel.
