On 12th May 12 members of the Yorkshire Regional Network met for the second time following its first meeting back in September 2009
The Yorkshire Regional Network was created following work created by the DESMOND Steering Group. Over 70 Educators and 10 Coordinators were invited with a great turn out of 12 Educators representing 7 of the 10 trusts in the network, trusts from Yorkshire and neighbouring counties.
The meeting was coordinated by Alison Harrop, an Educator from Wakefield and lasted 3 hours. Alison emailed everyone within the network with details of the date and coordinated agenda items. The meeting was hosted by Rotherham Diabetes Education and Resource Centre at Rotherham General Hospital, it was decided by the network in order to ensure the meetings are well attended and accessible for all invited that the trusts within the network would take it in turns to host. The first meeting was held at Dewsbury Health Centre and the next meeting is planned for Scunthorpe, with the host providing tea, coffee and biscuits.
The agenda for the meeting consisted of:
The meeting was very well received and appreciated by all that attended.
The next meeting is planned to happen before the end of the year in Scunthorpe.
