Make a date with DESMOND in Glasgow

For many people, DESMOND may still only be a name - even if name that’s now familiar to most! But the members of the DESMOND team are hoping that next week people in the Glasgow area will be able to put one of seven faces to that name.

Yes! For anyone with an interest in diabetes, the only place to be from 5-7 March 2008 will be at the Scottish Exhibition Centre in Glasgow. In this wonderful space on the banks of the Clyde, Diabetes UK are holding the 2008 Annual Professional Conference (APC). Over 3,200 delegates are expected to attend this first-rate opportunity for networking, improving knowledge and sharing best practice.

And in place to greet them when the conference opens on Wednesday morning, will be the seven members of the DESMOND team ready to share their enthusiasm for this cutting edge education programme, and their knowledge of the latest advances and developments in the world of DESMOND.

You’ll find them in the Exhibition Hall on Stand F70.

Showcasing this year will be our new website – still in its infancy, but sporting a new design to make searching for information on all things DESMOND much easier. The exhibition stand is also the place to be to speak to a Trainer, Educator or a Researcher in our popular ‘Meet the Professional’ series.

And to crown it all, on Thursday 6th March (2.30pm-4.00pm), the DESMOND National Training Team, already award-winners for their innovative and unique training and support programme for health care professionals, will be giving a presentation as part of the ‘Education Award’ sessions on the Boisdale Suite.

We will be very pleased to see you - and do our best to answer all your ‘burning questions’ in true DESMOND fashion.

Welcome to DESMOND in 2008!
